About

I am an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Durham University in the UK. My main interests are in Digital Humanities, and in particular its application to the study of the language and literature of pre-modern China.

I am also the creator and administrator of the Chinese Text Project, a major online collaborative digital library project for pre-modern Chinese texts. The library has an active crowd-sourced editorial community, is accessed by over 30,000 individual users each day, and is one of the 4000 most frequently visited websites worldwide in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, where many of its users are based.
